The Sussex Matchbox Labels eCommerce Store

Whilst I have many thousands of duplicate labels, I also accept that many other collectors may be in a similar situation as myself.  However, because I am medically retired, I have the time and opportunity to promote the sale of my duplicate labels wheras other collectors may not be in the same position.

Additionally, setting up a dedicated eCommerce Store does involve some financial outlay both in the software required to build and promote the store and also the cost related to having the eCommerce Store hosted on the Internet.  Successful eStores are usually those that offer a large variety of products for sale combined with an active presence on the web.

For eCommerce Stores supplying what is primarily a "niche market", success generally relies on an eStores continuous presence on the Internet, an address that is directly related to the 'niche products' being marketed and a reputation for honesty, fairness and a love of the product or products being sold.

I pride myself on the fact that I treat every customer I have dealings with as not only a customer but also like myself a collector of match related material.  This gives me a unique understanding of my customers and consequently it allows me to go that extra distance to ensure that they are kept up to date on what is happening with the store and what is being added to the store.

In keeping with the philosophy mentioned in the third paragraph above, Sussex Matchbox Labels eCommerce Store has been permanently on the Internet since Novemeber 2009 but with a non purchasing function deliberately put in place from mid-November 2010 to 6th January 2011 so that a complete upgrade of the store 'on-line' could be undertaken.  The domain address of matchboxlabels.co.uk reflects the identity of the material sold through the store and I believe that the prices displayed and being charged for labels and associated material reflect the fairness of the pricing structure compared to comparable sites and auction establishments currently on the Internet.  As a passionate and avid collector with a love of the hobby, I try to ensure that all material offered for sale has a full description available for potential customers to read irrespective of whether the label sells for 5pence or fifty pounds.  In addition, I have attempted to hone the charges associated with postage and packaging to the point that all customers from any part of the world are getting true value for money in relation to postage and packaging costs.

In addition, as time and resources permit I offer discount coupons to my customers - not only as a form of encouragement to buy more material - but also as a way of saying thank you for their custom and to offset the fact that for administrational reasons it is necessary to have a minimum label price of 5p per unit (item).
